The Code Style Web site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) throughout, but is designed so that most of the site works without stylesheets. This article explains how to configure your Web browser to use CSS and includes links to recommended CSS browsers.

Support for CSS in Internet Explorer 3 is very poor and it is advisable to switch off support for stylesheets or use a different browser. See the recommended browsers below if you are interested in improved CSS support.
Switch off CSS support in Internet Explorer 3 as follows:

Choose Internet options... on the View menu.

Select the Advanced tab and un-check the box Use style sheets.

Activate the OK button, then the Refresh button on the toolbar or menu option.

Select Internet options... on the View menu.

Select the General tab and activate the Accessibility button at the bottom right.

Uncheck the following boxes:

Ignore color on Web pages
-
Ignore font style on Web pages
-
Ignore font sizes on Web pages
-
Activate the OK button to back out to the Internet Options dialogue box.

Select the Advanced tab and scroll down to the heading Print background colors and images and check this box (optional).

Activate the OK button, then the Refresh button on the toolbar or menu option.

Choose the Page style option

In the Defaults section, check the Author mode as default option.

In the Author mode section check the following boxes:

Netscape 4 does not have a high level of CSS support and many features have bugs that may crash the browser. To prevent serious problems for Netscape 4 users, Code Style has been designed so that advanced CSS features will not be displayed in this browser. See the list of recommended browsers below for improved CSS support.

Choose Fonts on the side menu and check the box Allow documents to use other fonts.

Choose Colors on the side menu and check the box Always use the colors and background specified by the web page.

Choose the Web Content option under the Web Browser section.
